Try A New Product During Better Botanicals Sale

If you haven't delved into the world of natural beauty yet, I totally get it. It can be overwhelming, not to mention costly.

My advice is, don't try to overhaul all of your products at once. Wait until you run out of something and then research a natural alternative.

Better Botanicals is giving you a reason to dabble. They're having a 40% sale on all botanical hair and face care products through midnight on 12/24. Use the code Holidays2011 at checkout.

One of my favorite products is their Apricot Eye Therapy. Its ingredients? Apricot, ginger, cardamom and almond oil.

They ("they" being ayurvedic practitioners) say never put anything on your face that you wouldn't put in your mouth. You will see why after using this!

Leave me a post if you want other product recommendations.

Changing the World, One Lipstick at a Time

Since we're on the topic of natural makeup, I might mention one of my favorite brands is Josie Maran.

She has an amazing product, Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation.

It not only contains Argan, which is high in Vitamin E and naturally fatty acids, but it blends perfectly to match the shade of your skin.

Argan is certainly the new buzz word in the beauty world. But before you buy a "miracle in the bottle" - make sure it doesn't have other harsh, carcinogenic, or toxic substances.  To check out what chemicals should be of concern, click here.

When developing her line, Josie partnered with the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics. Her motto? "I'm going to change the world one lipstick at a time."

Sephora's Natural Selections

Today instead of battling hordes of Michigan Avenue holiday shoppers, I decided to go to Sephora's site for my holiday and vacation makeup needs.

I was tickled to find out Sephora has a search filter for natural products. And even better, they have a huge selection of makeup and beauty products without parabens, petrochemicals, synthetic fragances, phthalates, etc. No more maddening mall visits for me - searching for an elusive non-toxic product whilst crouching in the aisle, reading tiny bottles for even tinier print.
